The landscape in the work at home arena has changed drastically over the past several years. The internet has provided many future and present entrepreneurs opportunities that were simply unheard of in days past. One does not have to look far to find examples of those who have succeeded beyond their wildest dreams. The internet was the platform that spring boarded their success. Facebook, Twitter, Google, the list is far and wide. However, it is important to recognize that these are the exceptions, and not the rule. This should not dissuade one from pursuing a work at home endeavor. There are very legitimate and very real opportunities. That is why you must dig dip to find the legitimate opportunities in your working from home pursuits. There are many rewarding career opportunities available on the internet, they are simply difficult to find.

The internet is filled with very exciting and rewarding career opportunities. Some may require extensive education and training, while others only require a little creativity and some hard work. One who has an extensive medical background may consider working as a medical transcriptionist. This program usually requires one to take a six month training program. At the end of the program you will be certified to work in the field, and the opportunities are growing by leaps and bounds. Common sense tells us that the medical field will always be a solid career opportunity; people are simply going to get sick.

Another field one may look into is web page design and development. Many very successful designers were able to expand their career through freelance work at home opportunities. Specializing in this arena can bring one many very well-paying contract assignments. This also allows one to open up their creative side and possibly build a website that is based around a specialty or a passion. Many times internet entrepreneurs were able to succeed by simply creating a niche with something they loved to do. Web page design may not be one’s passion, but learning to build a simple website and fine tuning it around one’s passion has been a tried and true method in the internet world.

The internet has also provided an outlet for opening up one’s creative side. Those who may have a passion for writing, but do not think they would ever get paid for it, can now look to the web and find countless opportunities. There are many very legitimate sites on the web that will actually pay one to provide content for another internet marketer. The topics on these are wide ranging, which allows one to many times write about something they are good at or love. This allows one to pursue many other exciting opportunities in the writing world, and at the same time hone your writing skills. One up and comer in the article content world is The Content Authority. This is a truly legitimate site that pays its writers to provide quality article content for its clients. The topics are wide ranging and best of all, the writers are paid. A true example of how the web has now provided a wide range of work at home opportunities unlike anything that has ever been seen before.

This new era has given future and present work from home professional’s opportunities that go beyond one’s wildest dreams. The World Wide Web is an exciting platform, and it just keeps getting better and better. It has allowed many to open up a creative side they thought they never had. Above are just but a few examples, the list of careers one can do from home is far reaching. When beginning your pursuit, work very hard to separate what are legitimate opportunities and what are pure scams.

Researching any program is one of the most important things you can do. Unfortunately, many people simply will not take the time to do so. They are in a hurry to make that quick buck and fall for the marketers who are only out to make themselves rich, while the consumer pays for it.

I am writing this letter out of totally not knowing what to do. For over 3 years now, I have meticulously searched the Internet for a job at home. Yes, there are jobs I can do on the Internet, but they pay minimally and have little significance (Note – I can’t start a home business because I don’t have any additional reserves to wait for it to take off).

I live very modestly and require a total gross income of $30,000 ($10,000 from managing rental property + $20,000 income from a work at home part-time job ($18-$20 per hr which means 20-25 hrs. per week)).

I have now reached an age in life (age 62) that employers view “too old to bring in and train” unless I do a job that pays minimally and does not require much training. My background includes teaching in elementary school, various clerical/type jobs, and co-managing a small shopping strip (in my family). Teaching is out of the question because of massive lay-offs in the public schools and few vacancies in the private ones; working as a general clerk/administrative assistant part-time would only command $13 an hour at most. Also, since co-managing this strip center, I no longer have time to work a full-time job such as teaching, etc. I only have time to do a 20-25 hr per week, home-based part-time job. In addition, this rental property is located 50 miles from where I live, and I have to have extra time for managing/leasing it. (This strip center is in a small town with limited management resources; thus, my family has always had to manage it). Even if I could find a job on the Internet that paid enough (min. of $18-$20 per hour), I seriously wonder if I could replace this job if I were to lose it through no fault of my own. I wonder about this, because as I stated above, I have been looking for over 3 years.

This email has been difficult to write due to the fact that you don’t know me, and I don’t know you. If you should need further information, could you send me your phone number?

If you cannot help me, please tell me if you know of anyone who could. Please know that I don’t profess to know everything, but I don’t need anyone to help me set up an at-home work station, negotiate with an employer, etc. I simply need to know how to find a job on the Internet that meets my financial needs. I would appreciate hearing from you as soon as possible.

Hello Sharon times are tough given this weakened economy. Have you considered tutoring? I know lynda.com is a tutoring service, they are always looking for people with expertise in their field of work to create online tutorials for them. I’m not sure how the pay scale is but it seems tutoring might be good for you, especially with your experience of teaching children. Most media created online is intended for an average 8th grade comprehension level.
